Dear Shanghai Animal Lover,

Recently, we, at Best Friends China, were part of a rescue that saw animal lovers remove nearly 80 puppies from a fake rescue service that was keeping animals in terrible conditions. The puppies were bred at a "puppy mill" were they are fed antibiotics to keep them alive just long enough to sell them. If they grew too big or weren't cute enough, they might be sold to restaurants or merely beaten to death and thrown in the trash.

The puppies we saved were sick and disease spread quickly among them. Around 100 volunteers, amongst which some were BFC volunteers, did as much as they could and raised money for them to go to as many veterinary hospitals as we could find. After many weeks of care and work, some of the brave little doggies are ready to find forever homes.

We really want these little fighters to have the best homes we can find. We feel that it's fair and right to inform all potential adopters that these guys went through a lot. The ones that will be available for adoption at this event all had CDV (Canine Distemper Virus) and went through extensive treatment for the disease, in different clinics. They will have the virus in their bodies for the rest of their lives. This means, for the next few months, they should not have contact with unvaccinated dogs. However, they are perfectly able to live healthy lives and shouldn't suffer in the future.

If you have been thinking about getting a dog, please adopt. They cannot stay much longer in the hospital, and need the warm feeling of a home. Unfortunately, stories like these are far too common in China and the animals that survive need all the help we can give them. So, join us for the Puppy Mill Puppies Special Adoption Day at THE APARTEMENT, Sunday Feb the 1st, from 12 to 4pm and transform a sad start in to a happy ending!

You’ll find below the list of the puppies available for adoption on the day of the event!

Thanks,

The BFC Team
